Meet the Owners
The People Behind Every Project
Co-Owner & Licensed Builder
Dave Pawlus
Dave has been in the trades his whole career. He co-founded JD Contracting in 2000 and holds Michigan Residential Builder License #2102212396. The license is his personally, which means he's directly accountable for every job we take on.
He shows up. Every consultation, every job site, every final walkthrough. When you call us about a kitchen in Birmingham or a basement finish in West Bloomfield, you're talking to the guy who will actually run the project.
We've pulled permits in every Oakland County municipality we serve. Dave knows the local inspectors, the code quirks, and what it takes to get a project signed off right the first time. That's 25 years of doing this, not a sales pitch.

Co-Owner & Project Director
Arthur Godlewski
Arthur co-founded JD Contracting with Dave and runs the project side of the business day to day. If you've got a question about your timeline, need to make a material change mid-project, or want to know where things stand — Arthur is the person you call.
His background is in construction management, which means he thinks about sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and keeping jobs moving the way a site superintendent does. He's been doing this long enough to know where projects go sideways and how to get ahead of it.
Between the two of them, Dave and Arthur are involved in every project from the first walkthrough to the final punch list. That's not a talking point — it's how we've run the business for 25 years.
