Natural Stone and Porcelain Countertop Installation

Outdoor countertops face conditions that eliminate most interior materials: direct UV exposure, rain saturation, and Michigan's freeze-thaw cycling. Engineered quartz is not appropriate outdoors — the resin binder yellows and degrades under UV exposure over time. We install outdoor-rated surfaces for Metro Detroit outdoor kitchens and bar areas using granite, quartzite, and sintered porcelain slab products rated for UV stability, moisture resistance, and thermal shock.
Granite is the most common choice for Oakland County outdoor countertops. It handles heat from adjacent grills, resists moisture absorption when properly sealed, and has a natural look that works with both stone and composite surrounds. Quartzite offers similar performance with distinctive veining. Sintered porcelain products like Dekton and Neolith are UV-stable, scratch-resistant, and available in large-format slabs with minimal seam lines — a good fit for contemporary outdoor kitchen designs.
We coordinate fabrication with trusted shop partners, templating after the island structure is complete and scheduling installation within your project timeline. Overhang dimensions are laid out for comfortable barstool seating. Support framing, adhesive, and joint sealing are installed to manufacturer specifications for outdoor use — not pulled from interior countertop installation practices.
