Trim, Fascia, and Soffit Painting with Rot Repair as Needed

Trim and fascia fail before siding because they take the hardest hits — direct rain on horizontal surfaces, water concentrating at the roof edge, and moisture wicking up from grade into corner boards. By the time paint is peeling badly, the wood underneath is usually soft. Painting over soft wood doesn't fix it. The new paint peels within a season and the rot continues behind it.

New material gets oil-based primer on all faces including cut ends. Existing sound wood gets scraped, sanded, and primed on bare spots. Two coats of premium acrylic trim paint from Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams go on with brushes sized for each profile.
