Soffit and Fascia
Rotted fascia is one of the most common problems we find on Oakland County homes. Water from failed gutters or ice dams sits against the fascia board for months, the wood absorbs it, and by the time paint starts peeling, the damage runs deep. We remove the old material, probe the rafter tails and lookout framing behind it, repair what's compromised, and cover with aluminum or vinyl fascia that won't rot.
Soffit does two jobs: it covers the underside of the overhang and it feeds intake air into the attic. Without proper soffit ventilation, even a ridge vent won't create balanced airflow — the attic stays warm in winter, snow melts off the upper deck, and ice dams form at the cold eave. Getting the soffit right is part of the ice dam prevention system, not just a cosmetic finish.
We coordinate soffit and fascia replacement with gutter and roofing projects so everything integrates cleanly. Gutters attach to the fascia, so if the fascia is being replaced, the gutters come down and go back up as part of the same scope. We don't leave one trade's work dependent on a separate schedule.
