Ground-floor additions are the most common type we build across Oakland County: great rooms, expanded kitchens, in-law suites, sunrooms, and home offices. Every one starts with a foundation. Depending on the site and design, that means a full basement, a crawlspace with frost walls, or a monolithic slab — all engineered to Michigan's minimum 42-inch frost depth requirement and your site's soil bearing capacity.

Once the foundation is poured and inspected, we frame walls and roof, tie the new roof plane into the existing one, and close up the exterior before starting interior work. Exterior materials — siding profile, shingle series, fascia dimensions, trim profiles — are matched to your existing house. We source from the same manufacturers where possible so the finish is consistent, not just similar.

Mechanical rough-ins happen after framing and before insulation: HVAC duct extensions, new electrical circuits run from the panel, and plumbing if the addition includes a bathroom or wet bar. We coordinate all three trades so their runs don't conflict in the floor and wall cavities. The final inspection covers structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing together before we close out the permit.
