HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing System Extensions

Extending mechanical systems into an addition starts with a capacity check, not a duct run. We evaluate whether the existing furnace and air conditioner have the output to handle the additional square footage, whether the electrical panel has open breaker slots, and where plumbing connections can be made most directly. If the existing systems are running near capacity, we tell you before the project starts.
For HVAC, we size new trunk line and branch duct extensions for proper airflow to each register. Return air is as critical as supply — an addition without adequately sized return grilles creates pressure imbalance that affects the whole house. For electrical, we run new circuits with conductors sized for the load, confirm AFCI and GFCI requirements for the space type, and add breaker capacity at the panel if needed. For plumbing, we connect supply and drain at the most efficient point in the existing system and add vent stacks as the layout requires.
All three mechanical trades work in sequence during rough-in, before insulation and drywall. We coordinate routing through the floor and wall cavities together so there are no conflicts discovered after framing is closed. Phased inspections for all three systems are scheduled together where municipalities allow it — that coordination alone can save a week on the construction schedule.
