Mechanical System Integration for HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing
New square footage requires new mechanical capacity. Adding a 400 sf room addition without evaluating the existing HVAC system first means the new space may be uncomfortable even after it's fully finished. Before designing any duct or electrical extension, we check whether the existing furnace and air conditioner have spare output capacity, whether the electrical panel has available breaker slots, and where plumbing connections can be made efficiently.
For HVAC, we size new trunk line extensions and branch ducts for the added square footage, position supply registers and return air grilles for proper circulation, and address any deficiencies in the existing system before connecting new runs to it. For electrical, we confirm panel capacity and run properly sized circuits. For plumbing, we tap into existing supply and drain lines at the most direct connection point.
Having one contractor coordinate all three mechanical systems eliminates the routing conflicts that occur when separate trades work independently through the same wall and floor cavities. We plan duct, pipe, and wire runs together during rough-in, which reduces conflicts and means one set of phased inspections instead of three separate scheduling sequences.
