Full Permit Management Across Oakland County Municipalities

Oakland County has 62 municipalities with separate building departments that don't all operate the same way. Some accept online submissions. Some require paper plan sets. Plan review turnaround ranges from two weeks to six depending on jurisdiction and project scope. What Bloomfield Township requires in a permit package differs from what Troy or Birmingham requires. We know those differences because we've navigated them across the county for over 20 years.

For a home addition, the permit package includes a site plan showing setback compliance, architectural floor plans and elevations, and stamped structural drawings. Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits are pulled separately. Inspections are scheduled in sequence: footing, framing, rough mechanical, insulation, and final. Each phase must pass before the next begins — a missed inspection or an out-of-sequence one delays the project by weeks in a busy building department.
