A kitchen island that works well is designed before it's built — traffic flow, seating clearances, work triangle distances, and utility rough-in locations all get resolved on paper first. We size islands to Oakland County kitchen footprints where we see it: too many are built oversize and end up blocking movement between the refrigerator, range, and sink.
When an island includes a prep sink, dishwasher, or electrical outlets, we coordinate that work during the rough-in phase — before cabinetry goes in.
