Custom Cabinetry and Millwork
Factory cabinets use stapled butt joints in the box construction — they look fine when new but start to rack and loosen after years of daily opening and closing. We build with traditional dovetail joinery using white oak, cherry, maple, or walnut. The mechanical interlock of a dovetail joint doesn't rely on glue alone, which is why hand-built cabinetry holds up for decades in Metro Detroit kitchens.
We start every cabinet project with a field measurement and a detailed design conversation: wood species, door style, interior layout, hardware preferences, and finish. Boxes are built with solid-wood or plywood sides, plywood backs, and full-extension drawer slides rated for heavy loads. Soft-close hardware from Blum or Hettich goes on every door and drawer as standard.
Our shop handles everything from a single vanity to a full kitchen with pantry, island, and built-in appliance storage. All cabinetry is finished with catalyzed lacquer or hand-rubbed oil depending on the look you want, and we do custom stain matching to coordinate with existing trim or flooring throughout your Oakland County home.
