What's Included in Our Siding & Architectural Cladding Service
Vinyl and aluminum siding from the 1970s and 1980s is showing its age on Oakland County homes — faded color, loose panels, cracked J-channel, gaps at corners where caulk failed years ago. Wood siding from the same era is often rotted at the base and around window openings. When we strip it off, we frequently find moisture damage in the sheathing behind it. The siding was failing, and then it kept failing quietly until something inside the wall was wet.
We install James Hardie fiber cement siding as the primary recommendation for Metro Detroit homes. It doesn't rot, doesn't attract insects, and holds paint far longer than wood. We carry the full Hardie lineup — HardiePlank lap, HardieShingle, board-and-batten, and HardiePanel vertical — in factory-primed and ColorPlus pre-finished options. For homeowners where fiber cement isn't the right fit, we install premium insulated vinyl from CertainTeed and Alside. For accent walls, foundations, and porch columns, we install manufactured stone veneer.
Every siding project includes the moisture management system underneath: weather-resistant barrier housewrap lapped in shingle fashion from bottom to top, all seams taped, and self-adhering flashing at every window and door opening. We pull all required permits, coordinate with electricians and HVAC trades to flash around penetrations, and photograph the housewrap installation before siding covers it.
